LCD screens for Huawei phones

The P30 Lite, P40 Lite and Mate 20 were made with an LCD display, so an LCD replacement is a like-for-like repair, and fingerprint unlock is not affected because the sensor is on the back or side of the phone.

The P20 Pro and P30 were made with an OLED display. A budget LCD keeps the cost down, but it is slightly thicker and blacks are less deep. On the P30, the in-display fingerprint sensor will not work with an LCD; face unlock and PIN still work. The P20 Pro's fingerprint sensor sits below the screen, so it is not affected.

Fitting a screen without frame

Screens without frame are the lowest-cost option. Separate the old display from the original frame, clean off the old adhesive and bond the new panel in with a suitable adhesive. This suits experienced repairers.

Finding your exact Huawei model

Huawei screens are model-specific. For example, the P30 (ELE-L29) and P30 Lite (MAR-LX1A) use different screens. Check the model number in Settings › About phone, and match it to the code in the product title.
